Refunds and cancellations
These terms apply to fees paid toward financial auditing and related engagements with Blue Coast Audit Cabinet. They do not cover products or digital subscriptions we do not sell.
Eligibility
Refunds apply only to fees paid under a signed engagement letter or written fee quote that references these terms. Informational website content is free; no refund concept applies to browsing.
Timeframe to request
Refund or cancellation requests must be emailed to hello@platformsecuritycloud.digital within 14 days of the event giving rise to the request (for example, client cancellation or our inability to staff the engagement).
Full refund conditions
A full refund of amounts paid is available if we cancel an engagement before fieldwork begins for reasons within our control (for example, loss of independence or incapacity). If you cancel in writing more than 21 days before the scheduled interim or planning kickoff, deposits paid are refundable minus a ¥50,000 administrative charge.
Partial refunds
If you cancel after planning or interim procedures have begun but before year-end fieldwork, we refund unused fees after deducting time already incurred at the rates in the engagement letter, documented in a closing invoice. Once year-end fieldwork has started, fees for completed phases are non-refundable; only unbilled future phases may be cancelled without charge.
Non-refundable items
- Fees for work already performed and delivered (including issued reports or completed AUP findings)
- Third-party confirmation charges already paid to banks or agents
- Travel costs already incurred for inventory observation with prior written approval
- Administrative charge noted above on late client cancellations
Process
Email hello@platformsecuritycloud.digital with your engagement reference, company name, and reason. We confirm receipt within two business days and state the proposed refund calculation.
Processing time and method
Approved refunds are returned within 21 business days to the original payer by bank transfer. We do not issue cash refunds at reception.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Rescheduling inventory observation or fieldwork weeks is allowed once without charge if requested at least 14 days in advance and if capacity exists. Shorter-notice changes may incur additional travel or overtime charges agreed in a change order.
Deposits
Statutory audits typically require a 40% deposit on acceptance. Deposits secure calendar capacity and are applied to the final fee. Deposit treatment on cancellation follows the full and partial refund rules above.
No-shows
If client sites are inaccessible on an agreed observation or fieldwork day without 48 hours’ notice, time booked that day may be billed and is non-refundable. A replacement day is scheduled subject to capacity.
Work already started
Draft reports, management letters in progress, and completed testing sections remain billable. We provide a status summary with the final invoice when an engagement ends early.
Exceptions
Statutory filing deadlines imposed by law do not create an automatic refund if delay results from late client deliverables. Nothing in this page limits mandatory rights under Japanese law that cannot be waived.
